Pre-covid, CHH was delivering to over 50 families.

Cllr Francis Timmons said: “The pandemic has multiplied demand on our service by three times what we had. We are delighted that South Dublin County Partnership, Quarryvale Family Resource Centre and KN Circet have come on board with us to enable us to meet the increased needs.

“We also want to thank everyone in the community that has donated food items. In particular Oakfield Trust, John Moody and his family and friends, Liffey Valley Vineyard Church, Crosscare Foodbank, local schools food support and Tesco FoodCloud who have all been very generous in giving large donations. Hanley’s SuperValu Rowlagh have been incredibly helpful.’’

Timmons praised volunteers who have been driving around at their own expense to deliver food packages to local families in need.

“Also, to members of the Clondalkin Child and Family Support Network who have not only helped our volunteers with the collection and distribution of food but have also helped us secure additional funding,” he said.

“Special thanks to Bawnogue Youth and Community Centre who have very kindly allowed us to use the centre to store, sort and distribute the large quantity of food to families at this time.”
