Mr Donohoe, a club member and a lifelong Rovers fan is one of the ‘Belgrade 43’ - a group of Hoops supporters who travelled to Serbia in 2011, to watch the team achieve a momentous qualification to the Europa Group stages following a 2-1 victory against Patrizan Belgrade.

His most recent role was Commercial Director at Lír Chocolates and prior to that he was Global Commercial Director at Crabtree & Evelyn.
Before that Mr Donohoe was Managing Director at L’Oreal UK & Ireland Active Cosmetics Division.
Mr Donohoe takes over from outgoing CEO Brendan Murray, who finished a near five year term last November and now works as a UEFA Grow Mentor – the European business development support programme.
He joins a team at the SSE Airtricity League club which contains long serving Chairman Jonathan Roche.
The role of CEO at Shamrock Rovers, the most successful club in the Republic of Ireland, is a demanding task with multiple responsibilities.
It involves financial management of the club, implementing a strategic plan agreed by the board, rolling out an effective business model, growing the supporter base, developing the youth academy and Shamrock Rovers Community Plan.
It also involves building and maintaining relationships with corporate, government and the FAI, along with external stakeholders, including the owners of Tallaght Stadium – South Dublin County Council.
The club is partially owned by the Shamrock Rovers Members Club, with businessman Ray Wilson owning the 50 per cent stake since 2016.
