Site investigations planned for astro pitches at park

SITE investigations for and the preliminary design of the planned development of astro pitches in Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght have commenced.

The astro pitches in Sean Walsh Park are a significant part of a wider funding package based on supporting the regeneration of the central Tallaght Town Centre area, through the delivery of the proposed Local Area Plan.

South Dublin County Council received Urban Regeneration and Development Funding to carry out the planned works.

Belgard Community Centre is also earmarked for the development of astro pitches, and the centre completed a consultation process with local residents regarding the development of the pitches on their grounds.

The council is currently awaiting drawings from architects for the Belgard Community Centre’s astro pitches project to complete the Part 8 process.
