Sleeping Beauty and the Fabulous Fairies take to the Bawnogue stage
By Aideen O'Flaherty
A TRIO of glittering fairies will be sprinkling their fairy dust on the Bawnogue Youth and Community Centre stage this month as part of Clondalkin Drama Group’s Christmas panto, ‘Sleeping Beauty and the Fabulous Fairies’.
The drama group, which has been active in the area for over 60 years, will see a varied cast ranging in age from seven to 66-years-old take to the stage for their annual festive panto.
The panto will offer a hilarious twist on a classic childhood fairy tale, imbued with laughter and festive cheer.
Cianna Bramble from Clondalkin Drama Group told The Echo: “There’s always lots of laughs and giggles for people of all ages at our pantos.
“The rehearsals have been wonderful. The cast has been going off-script for a while now.
“We love doing it, we’re a non-profit organisation so the only benefit to us is making people smile.
“We usually have a wide range of audiences, there’s a big age range but typically families will come to our shows.”
Cianna added: “It’s wonderful to get the community together and to have some entertainment.”
The panto will take place in the Bawnogue Youth and Community Centre in Clondalkin on Saturday, January 13 at 7pm, Sunday, January 14 at 2.30pm, Friday January 19 at 7pm, Saturday, January 20 at 7pm and Sunday, January 21 at 2.30pm.
Tickets are €5 for children and €8 for adults, and can be purchased from East Village Coffee in Clondalkin Village, or you can contact the drama group directly on clondalkindramagrp [at] gmail [dot] com to reserve tickets.
