St MacDara’s turn on style in showdown

By William O'Connor

IT WAS all smiles for St MacDara’s Community College as they claimed the Dublin Post Primary Senior B Shield crown.

The Templeogue side delivered a solid performance as they brushed past the challenge of St Colmcille’s Community College 7-3 to 0-2 in Ringsend Park.

St MacDara’s were full value for their victory as they clocked up a couple of well worked scores to easily see them past the Knocklyon school.

Ciara O’Riordan impressed up front for the winners as she helped herself to two goals and a point from placed balls.

Niamh Cannon and Tara Keegan put in solid performances for the winners while Aisling and Ellen Keyes were others to stand out.

Captained by Hannah Begley, MacDara’s were always in control of this contest and ran out convincing winners.

Having lost in last year’s All-Ireland decider, the Templeogue school will be hoping to go one step further this term.
