St Patrick’s held a very successful fund-raising event in February to raise money for the club and for the Children’s’ Heart Centre in the Hospital.

Aidan Glennon, a member of the club and his wife Nollaig were involved in organising the event for the unit which is the national centre for paediatric cardiology in Ireland.

Their one-year-old daughter was looked after in the centre over the past year and they were extremely happy with the high standard of care and treatment she received by the team of doctors and nurses in the centre.

The fantastic multi-disciplinary facility has space for parents to stay close to their children with a kitchen, showers and a lovely space for children to play outside.

It was built through funds raised by parents and supporters of the unit such as Aidan Glennon and his family.

Congratulations and well done to Aidan, Nollaig and all the members of St Pat’s who organised, participated and those who supported the fundraiser which in turn donated to a worthwhile facility like the Children’s Heart Unit.

The support of the members and people in Palmerstown made this event very special and the fact that over €7,000 was raised for the Children’s Heart Unit showed how worthwhile community events like this can be.
