Stadium set to host ‘large scale’ events and concerts

TALLAGHT Stadium Management is actively looking to host other events including concerts and other large scale events which could be as soon as next year.

At this weeks Tallaght Area Meeting, Councillor Dermot Richardson asked can the manager report on what events are planned for Tallaght stadium, for example, concerts etc for the next year now that the stadium is near completion.

In its response the council said: “It is anticipated that the construction works at the Stadium will be completed towards the end of July 2023.

“This will allow for the resumption of conference and business type events in the refurbished corporate hospitality and conference areas from then.

“Stadium Management is activley looking to host other events at the venue, including concerts and other large scale events, from Autumn 2023 and beyond, into 2024 and subsequent years.

“We will keep this under reveiw and notify the members of any large scale events”.

Airtricity League champions Shamrock Rovers will be boosted this summer by the addition of the new fourth stand at the Tallaght bypass end of the grounds which will increase the capacity to a 10,000-seater.

The investment in Tallaght Stadium is approximately €11.5 million, with the works maintaining the stadium’s UEFA Category 4 status which will potentially allow the hosting of all European games, including group games for the Champions League or Europa League.

The fourth stand, located at the N4 end of the stadium is taking shape and Shamrock Rovers host Sligo Rovers at the grounds this Friday night.
