Staying local this St Patrick’s Day? Here’s the details for community parades…

IT’S THAT time of year again when we get to paint our hometown green and celebrate local groups, clubs and organisations.

Here are all the details you need to know about this year’s St Patrick’s Day festivals and what is what when it comes to the four local parades in Tallaght, Clondalkin, Lucan and Rathcoole.

Tallaght Parade 10

Kicking off at 1.30pm, the Tallaght Parade will leave TU Dublin – Tallaght campus, travel down the Old Blessington Road, along Main Street and take a left onto the Greenhills Road before returning to the college campus.

More than 500 participants are gearing up to take part in the Tallaght showpiece, with more information about the parade HERE.

Clondalkin Parade12

Starting at 2.30pm at the stage area of Tuthills carpark, the Clondalkin St Patrick’s Day Parade will feature over 30 groups as they trek down Main Street towards Tower Road.

Lucan Parade 25

Over 16,000 people are expected to attend the Lucan Parade, with the event beginning at 3pm on Hillcrest Drive.

More than 30 groups are also set to feature in the Lucan spectacle, with the running order and route HERE.

Rathcoole Parade 15032018

The Four Districts Parade will feature over 15 groups and will start at 2pm at Rathlawns in Rathcoole before making its way to Saggart Village.

Now in its 13th year, the popular parade will be comprised of groups from Rathcoole, Saggart, Brittas and Newcastle, with all the information about the parade available HERE.
