Storm Lorenzo: SDCC maintenance crews on standby as yellow warning kicks in

South Dublin County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team is monitoring Storm Lorenzo and is in receipt of updates from both Met Éireann and the National Directorate of Fire and Emergency Management.

There is a status yellow wind and rain warning in place for the Dublin region effective from Thursday, 9am until Friday, October 4 at 9am.

A meeting of the Severe Weather Assessment Team took place on Tuesday to review the preparedness for the storm and to plan the work in the days ahead leading up to the storm and the aftermath.

Further meetings will occur over the coming days as this weather event develops.

The council have a Severe Weather Plan and a Flood Plan for these weather events, which will be put into action as required.

Maintenance crews are preparing for the storm and will be available and on standby to respond and deal with emergencies over the period.
