THREE local secondary schools will be joining forces to perform an Elvis inspired musical that will leave the audience all shook up next week.

Transition Year students from Coláiste Bríde, Moyle Park College and Coláiste Chillian, all in Clondalkin, will take to the stage in the Coláiste Bríde school gym for their performance of ‘All Shook Up’.

Students from Coláiste Bríde and Moyle Park College have previously collaborated during their performances of ‘Grease’ and ‘Hairspray’, but this will be the first time all three schools will be collaborating with each other, in what has been described as a “community effort”.

Coláiste Bríde teacher Grace Lanigan told The Echo: “All of the students are getting on great, and in the first few rehearsals everyone was very excited.

“They’re all making lots of new friends.”

The students are hands-on in all aspects of the show, with the costumes and sets also being devised by the students.

‘All Shook Up’ is a love story that centres on Chad and Natalie, which is based on a book written by Joe Dipietro, with Elvis’ music serving as the soundscape as their affection develops.

The students have been regularly rehearsing for the performance since September, so the show, which will be on for four nights, will be the result of the students’ and teachers’ hard work and dedication.

Grace said: “The rehearsals are going really well, and the audience can expect an amazing, uplifting and fun night full of dance and singing.

“It’s great for the community, and we’ve got great support from all of the parents and teachers – it’s a real community effort.”

‘All Shook Up’ will be performed on January 16, 17, 18 and 19 in the school gym in Coláiste Bríde, with the show beginning at 8pm sharp each night.

Tickets are €12 for adults, and €8 for students and OAPs, the tickets are available at the receptions of all three schools.
