Sule secures his long-awaited move to Barnet

TALLAGHT man Fuad Sule has finally secured his move to English League Two side Barnet FC.

The high-rated midfielder has really turned heads in his time with Bohemians, earning the ‘Senior Player of the Year’ title at the club for the 2017 season and also picking up the ‘SSE Airtricity League and Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month’ Award for July.

A former player at Rathcoole Boys, Crumlin United, Shamrock Rovers and St Pat’s, he was a vital cog in Bohemians’ surge up the Premier League table to a fifth-place finish, just four points off a Europa League berth.

Speaking to BarnetFC.com, Sule said “I’m very happy to be with this massive club in this league.

“It’s been ongoing a while now. The interest has been there from the two parties since the summer and it’s just little things that have been knocking the deal back, but I’m very happy to get it over the line and I can’t wait to get on to the pitch.”

Looking back on what has been a very telling season for himself, the 20-year-old added “It turned out to be a very very good season with some huge personal accolades that I achieved.

“Personally it was a good season for me and collectively as a team it was a good season for everybody associated with the club. I’ll remember the club with very fond memories and I’m just happy to be here now and kick on.

“The players [in Barnet] are very very good players. I’ve been very impressed. You can see the difference in fitness levels with the players and I have to get up to that level because I haven’t played since the end of October.

“Hopefully we can retain our status in League Two and hopefully we can kick on next year and see if we can get up into League One. Hopefully I can be a big part of that” he concluded.

Barnet will certainly welcome a player of his ability as they desperately bid to improve on their second-from-bottom standing in League Two, starting with a visit to 16th place Crawley Town on Saturday, January 13.
