A committee representing a broad range of enterprises was formed to prepare a presentation and tour for the independent judges to assess Tallaght under a range of criteria.

The criteria included the extent and range of business activity in the town, its attractiveness of town, partnerships, town leadership, community support, inclusion and diversity.

The large town category is comprised of areas with a population of over 7,000 people and came with a €3,000 prize.

SDCC expressed special thanks to the numerous people and groups that contributed to a successful outcome for Tallaght, including SDCC LEO staff, Tallaght Stadium, Partas, IT Tallaght, Synergy Centre, South Dublin Chamber, South Dublin Partnership, Henkel Ireland, Shamrock Rovers and Citywise.

The Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards has a total prize fund of €157,000, rewarding towns and villages where businesses and communities come together to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.
