THE Primary Care Centre located at Tallaght Cross will be operational from next month, it was confirmed at the recent meeting of the Dublin Mid-Leinster Regional Health Forum.

It was confirmed in response to local Fianna Fáil councillor Charlie O’Connor, who sought information on the operation date and the services that will be provided.

The response to Cllr O’Connor stated that the building is expected to be handed over to the HSE early this month, with the services to move into the building in August.

It is expected to become fully operational by October of this year, and will provide services to the wider Tallaght community.

Included within the services will be the Springfield Primary Care Team, Adult and Paediatric Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics, Psychology, Community Nursing and Regional Audiology Services.

The report said: “There will be significant opportunity for an integrated approach to the delivery of services with the acute sector. Discussions have already commenced with AMNCH and the Coombe regarding same.”

In response to the report, Cllr O’Connor said: “This is a most significant development with regard to Primary Care services in Tallaght and I congratulate all concerned in the development.”
