Tallaght Person of the Year 2016: And the winners are…
The 33rd Tallaght Person of the Year Awards were celebrated tonight in the Red Cow Hotel, with the very best of Tallaght being front and centre.
Across the community amazing work is being done ever day, and the awards celebrate those unsung heroes.
This year’s Tallaght Person of the Year went to Simon Sweeney of the Kiltipper Ramblers.
Simon’s work in encouraging the community to take pride in where they live is infectious, and in his acceptance speech he noted his predecessor Philip Preston, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Among the other winners were Social Circle for their incredible work in the community, while Tallaght Martial Arts picked up the Philip Preston Sport Award.
