‘Tallaght Talks’ a perfect way to tackle mental health and suicide

TALLAGHT businesses are this week being invited to support a unique mental health conference which, taking place on December 3, hopes to build a grassroots approach to mental health.

Called Tallaght Talks, the day-long event is free and open to the entire community, with a number of professional speakers and services participating on the day with a host of local voices such as professional speakers and services, alongside community voices such as mixed martial artist Paddy Holohan, former professional footballer Richie Sadler, poet, actor and writer Emmet Kirwan, and comedian Al Porter.

Hosted by Senator Lynn Ruane and Darren Dillon of Kickstart Fitness, Tallaght Talks hopes to get the conversation on mental health and suicide started at grass roots level, alongside exploring the importance of looking after your mental health and promoting the services locally.

The event, which runs from 10am to 4pm and includes lunch, is free to attend, with local businesses this week encouraged to come on board and donate €100 to event.

Senator Ruane believes that Tallaght Talks is the perfect opportunity for local people, services and businesses to work together, with all businesses who partner being promoted at the event.

Tallaght Talks will be staged in the Plaza Hotel on Saturday, December 3, from 10am to 4pm, with members from right across the wider community encouraged to attend.
