Tallaght Town U13s secure cup title
TALLAGHT Town had plenty to shout about in the AUL Complex on Saturday when they secured the U13 DDSL PTSB Cup.
The Tallaght outfit overcame Belgrave 2-1 who put up a battling performance in the closing stages of the match.
Both sets of teams are currently top of their league looking to secure the title in the next few weeks, so this contest was always going to be an exciting encounter.
Tallaght Town led out by their captain Archie Mc Auley started much stronger in first half with Jayden O Reagan scoring a great goal from a corner kick.
Tallaght Town were unlucky not to go in at half time more than one goal up after enjoying good possession but not converting this into scores.
The second half was much more closely contested by both teams and the second goal arrived from Rhys Jones who scored a lovely worked shot to the top left corner of the Belgrave net.
Tallaght Town had shouts for a penalty but the match official waved play on before Belgrave pulled a goal back eight minutes from the end to set up a frantic finish.
The Tallaght boys dug in deep in the closing moment and saw out a very close contest to claim the prize.
