Teen says he will ‘probably go out’ when he turns 18
A TEENAGER (17) who completed an alcohol awareness course told a judge in Tallaght District Court that he intends to “go out “ when he turns 18.
The teenager, who has an address in Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at a convenience store in Tallaght on January 1, 2017.
The court had heard that at 7pm on the above date, the gardai had responded to a call that a group of youths were causing a disturbance in a convenience store in Tallaght.
Arriving at the scene they observed the teenager being threatening and using abusive language to staff.
He was before Judge Patricia McNamara for completion of an alcohol awareness course and to write a letter of apology to the staff in the shop.
His counsel, Stephen Montgomery Bl, said his client had completed the course and had written the letter of apology.
Judge McNamara said it was a positive report.
She asked the teenager: “What have you learned”.
He replied: “Not to go out and drink too much”.
Mr Montgomery said his client would soon be turning 18.
Judge McNamara asked the teenage what will he do when he turns 18.
The teenager replied: “Probably go out”.
Judge McNamara applied the Probation Act.
