Ten-year ban imposed on uninsured Tallaght driver
By Brendan Grehan
AN UNINSURED driver was put off the road for 10 years by Tallaght Court.
There was no appearance from Hugh Cash in court.
Judge John Coughlan said the case could proceed in his absence.
Cash, aged 26, with an address at Daletree Place, Ballycullen, was accused of having no insurance and no driving licence at Blessington Road in Tallaght on August 9, 2015.
Garda Ruadhan McLoughlin said he stopped Cash at 10.25pm on the above date on Blessington Road. He said Cash chose to produce his driving licence and insurance at Tallaght Garda Station but failed to do so.
He said Cash has 62 previous convictions including four for no insurance.
Judge Coughlan told Cash’s solicitor, Michael Hennessy, that he would not impose a custodial sentence.
He fined Cash €90 and imposed a 10-year driving ban for having no insurance and took the licence into consideration.
