The Scoil Mochua Annual Debutants Ball saw graduates Stephen Carton, Colm Meade, Martin Lawrence, Dylan Rooney and Tony McDonagh celebrate with family and friends.

Vivienne Wynne, Principal Scoil Mochua: “The event was a great success and the graduates were joined by their family, friends, teachers and staff of Scoil Mochua.

“The staff of the school would like to wish the students all the best for the future and let the know that there will always be a welcome for them in Scoil Mochua.”

Located on Old Nangor Road, Scoil Mochua have the support of South Dublin County Council, to take ownership of council owned lands beside the school, which would allow for a “dedicated centre of excellence.”

The school are currently operating in a building that is “not-fit-for purpose.”

Over the last two years, the CRC have invested heavily in improving the existing infrastructure within the current limitations of the building.

Following approval to the Department of Education schools list in 2015, Scoil Mochua approached the council regarding a strip of land which boundaries the existing school building and lands.

“This land, if shared, would allow for the development of a dedicated centre of excellence,” said a CRC spokesperson.

Proposals include enhanced CRC supports and a “state-of-the-art facility catering specifically for the needs and requirements of children with disabilities and their families.”
