The Echo’s Emma Kennedy tests out the Peugeot 5008

How do I explain this? The 5008 to me is a family car that’s not at all ‘Mammy-ish’! In fact, it’s really quite cool and a great all-round look and feel with its rear tinted windows and 18” Alloys wheels it will suit all the family drivers. I particularly loved the bucket style seats that come as standard in all the 5008 models and the 3008 (the slightly smaller SUV model), the chrome interior, touch screen, touch button controls and the steering wheel are sleek and neat and very French.

There is a very common factor resurfacing while I am doing these test drives, the current road safety features and motor industry technology in most new cars is really high spec.
The 5008 includes the Speed limit recognition and recommendation and lane departure warning, which if you haven’t experienced is; when you accidently sway into another lane the car steering gives a tug to veer you into staying in the correct lane, which is very noticeable and for me it encouraged me to change my bad habit of not indicating when changing lanes, which will be a positive habit changing aspect for all drivers and an overall safer environment for all road users.
The reverse camera and sensors also come as standard, however the 5008 is the first car I have test driven the also includes the overhead birds eye view of the car,giving you the extra bit of reassurance and accuracy.
