The Victory: Tallaght band gear up for Workman’s club gig

A  Tallaght band is gearing up for their first gig as a three-piece in the Workman’s Club this Friday, March 10.

The Victory is composed of frontman Shane O’Reilly from Jobstown, guitarist Alan O’Flaherty from Old Bawn and bassist Chris Platt.

The band’s sound veers between rock and pop, and they released their well-received debut EP last year.

The Victory recently reduced from a five-piece to a three-piece, and are keen to bring their new style show to The Workman’s.

Frontman Shane O’Reilly told The Echo: “As we’ve gone from a five-piece band to three members, there’s been quite a shift in terms of sound now.

“I feel there’s more of a rockier sound than before, maybe a bit more upbeat with the new songs…to try to fill the gap with the loss of two members hasn’t been easy.

“We’ve been trying to somehow fill the sound and make it as energetic as possible with just us three.

“It’s pretty much like a different band, really.”

Other bands performing on the night include Morda, The Telling and The Group, and doors will open at 6.30pm on Friday.

Tickets are €11.70 each and are available on Eventbrite or at the door on the night.
