Three months suspended sentence for man who broke into a care centre in west Dublin

A MAN caught trespassing in a west Dublin care centre has been given a three-month suspended sentence.

David Brachocki forced the front door open before getting in and asking a nurse for a glass of water, Blanchardstown District Court heard.

Brachocki, aged 31, with an address at New Seskin Court, Tallaght pleaded guilty to trespassing at Marymount Care Centre, Westmanstown, Lucan on March 27 last.

Garda Brian Halley said he was called to the scene at 1.20am, where he met the accused sitting outside the building.

On speaking to staff, they said he had jumped the front gate and forced the front door open to gain entry to the building.

Inside, the accused had met a nurse and asked for a glass of water. Staff managed to coax him outside before calling the gardai.

Brachocki had 95 prior convictions and was already serving a sentence for similar offences. Brachocki had an earliest release date in April next year. Defence solicitor Simon Fleming said the accused accepted he had an “appalling record”,

Judge McHugh suspended the sentence for 12 months.
