Three released from Garda custody after Lucan burglary

THREE MALES who were arrested at the scene of a traffic collision in Maynooth following a burglary in Lucan early on Tuesday morning have been released from garda custody.

A Garda spokesman told The Echo that the three males had been released and that a file had been sent to the DPP in respect of the matter.

On Tuesday morning at around 2.40am, a homeowner in Foxborough Estate in Lucan disturbed a burglar in her home.

The woman’s son then chased the male to the end of the road where he jumped a wall and got into a black 4x4 which was parked on the Foxborough Road.

Gardai then attended the scene of a road traffic accident on the Moyglare Road in Maynooth at 4.50am and arrested three men in connection with the earlier burglary.

In a statement released to Echo.ie, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai attended the scene of a traffic collision on the Moyglare Rd, Maynooth, Co Kildare at approximately 4.50am this morning.

“The three male occupants of the 4×4 vehicle, including the driver, were arrested on suspicion of committing a burglary”.

The spokesperson added that the 4×4 was a stolen vehicle.
