Times and locations of local St Patrick’s Day parades

St Patrick’s Day 2024 promises to be a green affair across local communities, as residents, clubs, groups and organisations come together to celebrate their area. 

This year, parades are planned for Clondalkin, Lucan and the Four Districts (Saggart, Newcastle, Rathcoole and Brittas). 

There’s plenty planned for each parade, with heaps of local talent on display in the family-friendly events. 

Find details on each parade below. 

Four Districts Parade begins at 1.30 pm in Rathlawns, Rathcoole, travels into Rathcoole village, proceeds to Avoca and Saggart before finishing at St Mary’s GAA. No road closures – roads on parade route closed as parade approaches.

Clondalkin Parade begins at 2.30 pm at the Stage area at Tuthils carpark, with music from 2pm.

Route: Old Nangor Road, Orchard Lane, Main St and Tower Road. Old Nangor Road and the other roads close at 1 pm. Visit the Clondalkin Parade Facebook page HERE

Lucan Parade assemble and commence at the large green at Green Park Road / Westbrook Park / Hillcrest Close in Hillcrest (adjacent to Tesco) from 2pm, be in place by 2.30 pm, the parade commences at 3pm sharp.

Approximate finish time: 5 pm.

Route: proceeds down Dodsboro Road, under the N4 bridge onto the Leixlip Road, past McDonalds, onwards towards the Bally Alley pub, and into Lucan Village, turning left at Courtneys, past the review stand outside the Muintir na Tíre hall, and disperse up through the village past the Italian Embassy. Road closures from 2 to 6pm for Dodsboro Road / Tandys Lane, Old Celbridge Road, Lucan Road from the village to St Mary’s Church, and Adamstown Road from Courtneys to the N4. No through road through the village and Chapel Hill will be open for north bound traffic crossing the Liffey Bridge.
