Tims poised to return with MGM
By Stephen Leonard
IAN Tims will be hoping to get his boxing career motoring again after recently signing for MGM.
“I’m delighted to have signed and I’m looking forward to fighting under the MGM banner real soon” said the 36-year-old Clondalkin cruiserweight.
“I’ve been a little inactive lately but MGM have promised to get me busy straight away” he added.
The Clondalkin cruiserweight last fought in November of 2015 when he beat Michael Sweeney in the National Stadium.
He had previously beaten Sweeney back in 2011 for the Irish Cruiserweight title, but has fought just five times since then, losing three of those contests.
The first of those was against Juho Haapoja for the EBU-EU Cruiserweight title after which he was also undone by Tony Conquest for the WBO international equivalent.
