Top win for BMA Clondalkin

The TMA hosted fight night had a 35- fight card ranging from five-year-olds to adults including novice, intermediate and more experienced fighters.

Invited clubs on the card to showcase their talent on the night alongside the host team were LJays (Tallaght), Hurricane (Offaly), Elite (Artane), Hybrid (Dundalk), Diamond (Ballyfermot) and Clondalkin’s very own BMA outfit.

The Clondalkin kickboxing club topped the bill with Cayden Derwin taking on home favourite Dillon King in a two round LC battle.

Cayden’s longer reach proved to be one of the deciding factors in taking the title back to D22.

Tallaght’s Dillon King was a very game opponent from start to finish but the Clondalkin champion was able to dominate and take the win on a majority 2-1 decision.

Cayden also stepped in an earlier bout as an opponent pulled out last minute leaving TMA’s Max Myers with a possible no contest.

Cayden indeed then proved too strong for Max with an early stoppage in Round 1.

Fionn Kelly was challenged by a much taller opponent from Ljay’s Kickboxing Club.

Stuart Prole (Ljay’s) tried to capitalise on his reach advantage but Clondalkin’s Fionn used his boxing skills to good work inside Stuart’s guard and with it a convincing unanimous win for BMA.

Robert Dryja took on TMA’s Liam Feeney in a 2 round PF bout and the young Clondalkin fighter who also just qualified for the WAKO national team was in flying form taking a points win for Clondalkin.

Unfortunate to lose out on the night were Robert Dryja v TMA’s Edward Comeford, Michal Siry v Ljay’s Jack Lynch and a very narrow loss for Donny Caren against LJay’s Emmanuelle Chukwuneta.
