A MAN and woman arrested during a Garda raid on an industrial unit in Tallaght appeared before court on Wednesday, and have both been remanded in custody.
On Monday afternoon, February 27, gardai attached to Tallaght Garda Station carried out a planned search of a unit in the Cookstown industrial estate shortly after 1pm.
The raid was part of an on-going operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Tallaght area, with officers seizing a firearm, ammunition, cannabis and suspected cocaine.
Drug paraphernalia associated with grow houses were also seized during the search.
A man, in his early forties, and a woman, in her mid-thirties, were arrested at the scene and taken to Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
On Wednesday, March 1, the man and woman appeared before Tallaght District Court and have since been remanded in custody.
The woman was remanded in custody to the Dochas Centre in Mountjoy Prison while the man was remanded to Cloverhill.
They will both appear before the courts on March 8.
