Two beautiful performances from Sacred Heart pupils

Pupils and teachers from the school’s music club in Sacred Heart, Sruleen have been practicing weeks in preparation for two beautiful performances to get everybody into the spirit of Christmas.

The first took place last week in The Mill Shopping Centre where they were raising funds for the charity Fight with Eoghan, Eoghan is a past pupil of Sacred Heart Sruleen.

Eoghan’s world changed instantly when he was involved in a bike accident causing significant injuries wherein he was put in an induced coma and on a life support machine, he later underwent spinal surgery, Eoghan initially was told that he may never come off a ventilator, however, through Eoghan’s sheer determination he is now breathing unassisted, however, he remains paralysed from the neck down, he continues his treatment at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoighre.

The second performance took place this week in St James Hospital bringing Christmas joy to patients, staff and visitors alike.

A beautiful morning of singing was had by all, the children especially delighted with their selection boxes and drinks gifted from the hospital for bringing the Christmas spirit and spreading joy!!

A worthy mention of thanks to the teachers Mr. Doherty, Mr. Lawlor, Mr. Whelan and Ms. Muldowney for their time and encouragement for each of the children!
