Two people charged after €740,000 worth of cocaine seized at Dublin Airport

A MAN and a woman have been remanded in custody following the seizure of an estimated €740,000 worth of drugs at Dublin Airport.

Shortly before 9pm on Thursday evening, two people were stopped by Revenue Customs to conduct a luggage search.

Of the course of the search, around 8.5kg of suspected cocaine and two litres of liquid cocaine was discovered.

The value of the drugs seized was estimated at €740,000.

The two people were arrested and taken to Ballymun Garda Station where they were detained under Section Two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

As part of the investigations, the two people, Pamela Da Silva and Jefferson Pedrucci of Carrigmore Glen, Saggart, appeared before a sitting of Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday, January 22.

They appeared before Judge Dermot Simms and the pair were charged with unlawfully possessing and importing cocaine and having it for sale or supply.

Both Ms Da Silva (28) and Mr Pedrucci (32) were remanded in custody to appear again before the courts this Friday.
