Man in serious condition after being hit by car in Dublin 12

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses following a serous road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle in Drimnagh in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A man (40s) was hit by a car shortly before 1.30am on the Drimnagh Road in Dublin 12.

Gardaí and units from Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and treated the injured man for serious injuries before he was transported to Beaumont Hospital.

The condition of the pedestrian is understood to be “serious” while both the driver and sole occupant of the car went injured in the collision.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are set to carry out a technical examination at the crash site, which is closed and has low traffic diversions in place.

“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are also appealing to any road users with video footage from the location at the time of the collision to make it available to them,” a Garda spokesperson said.
