Witness appeal following discharge of firearm

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following the discharge of a firearm in Tallaght earlier this week.

At around 7.25pm on Tuesday, a number of shots were fired at the junction of Fortunestown Road and Jobstown Road.

According to a Garda statement, it’s understood those involved fled the scene in a car.

No person was injured as a result of the firearm being discharged, gardai said.

Investigating officers in Tallaght are now appealing to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.

Any person who was on the Fortunestown Road, Jobstown Road or in the vicinity of the area between 7pm and 8pm on Tuesday evening, May 16, and who may have mobile phone or dash cam footage, is asked to make this available.
