Witness appeal following road traffic collision on N81

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N81 in Tallaght on Thursday afternoon.

According to a Garda statement issued today, the collision occurred yesterday at around 3.20pm on the Tallaght Bypass.

A Garda spokesperson said: “The female pedestrian (50s) was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

“The road was closed for a period to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.

“It has since reopened.”

Gardai are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time of the collision, are asked to make this footage available.
