Witness appeal to fatal traffic collision on Naas Road

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the Naas Road over the weekend to come forward.

The collision occurred at approximately 12.20am on Sunday, November 12, in the Red Cow area when a pedestrian alighting from a car was struck by a second car and fatally injured.

The body of the male pedestrian, aged in his 20s, has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary.

A Garda statement said: “The male driver (20s) of the first car and a male passenger (20s) from the second car were taken to Tallaght and St James hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

“The scene was held and Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted an examination.

“A male, aged in his 20s, has been arrested and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in South Dublin.”

Gardai are now appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Naas Road or in the Red Cow area between midnight and 12.45am are asked to make this footage available to gardai.
