Woman who ‘mixed up dates for court’ is given bail

By Brendan Grehan

A WOMAN, who denies not sending her son to school, was released on bail this week by Tallaght Court after she took a bench warrant.

The woman, who has an address in Tallaght, had pleaded not guilty to failing to comply with a school-attendance notice to ensure her son’s attendance at a secondary school in Tallaght.

She is also accused of failing to appear at Tallaght Court on September 30, 2016.

The woman appeared before Judge Patricia McNamara in custody.

Garda Laoise Traynor told Judge McNamara that she arrested the woman by arrangement before the court that morning.

She said the woman had told her that she “had mixed her dates up and had a lot going on at the time”.

Judge McNamara released the woman on bail and adjourned the case for three weeks for mention.
