€5m centre plans lodged
The new centre will bring “badly needed jobs” to Lucan through both construction and permanent positions according to local Fine Gael TD Derek Keating who has been campaigning for the facility for a number of years.
The Primary Healthcare Centre will be located at Ballyowen, bordering Castle Road with revamped entry and exit points beside the existing shopping centre.
The building, which was designed by Green Build and Tom Duffy Architects, is over 31,000 sq ft and will be built between three and four storeys.
Mr Duffy, architect for the development, said: “Environmentally, the building will incorporate the cutting edge of Green Technology and will be a highly insulated, low energy consuming, A-Rated structure incorporating Rainwater Harvesting, LED lighting, with a sustainable green roof and renewable green solar energy panels.”
