AbbVie biopharma ranked second in ‘Best Workplace’

A NUMBER of South Dublin County businesses were amongst the winners at the Great Place to Work Awards 2019 in the Clayton Hotel, Dublin.

Biopharma company AbbVie, which has commercial headquarters in Citywest, was listed among the Best Large Workplaces in Ireland for the sixth successive year.

AbbVie was ranked the Number 2 Best Large Workplace and remains the highest-placed company in the biopharma/pharmaceutical industry across all categories.

Caroline McClafferty, Director of Business Human Resources for Manufacturing Engineering Services with AbbVie, was also the recipient of the 2019 Great Place to Work Ambassador award.

The group were also recognised as a Best Workplace for Women at the awards event.

Other winners in the Best Large company category were Nangor Road firm Zenith Technologies, and IT group SAP, who have a service and support centre in Citywest.

Best Medium Workplace category winners included WorkHumanformerly known as Globoforce, who this week announced a major €4m expansion of its Parkwest headquarters, creating 150 new jobs.

Also in the Best Medium category was fleet management provider Johnson & Perrot Motor Group, based in South City Business Park in Tallaght.

In the Best Small Workplace, Citywest tobacco company JTI Ireland secured third place in the category award ranking.

Other winners in the Best Small Workplace category include Ballymount medical distributor PEI, Greenhills company Autoglass, Volkswagen Financial Services Ireland based in Liffey Valley, and Red Cow dental firm 3Dental.

3Dental owner’s Dr Niall Vallely, Dr Peter Doherty and Dr Paul O’Connell, highlighted their commitment as a key factor in securing the award.

Dr Vallely said: “We are absolutely delighted to be included on the list. Our staff are like family and we all genuinely love going to work together every day.

“Myself, Paul and Peter couldn’t ask for a better team.”
