ADDITIONAL information has been requested in relation to a proposed housing development on Old Nangor Road in Clondalkin.

The applicant, Dublin Simon Community, has proposed the development of a three-storey apartment building to house ten one-bed units.

The application also includes provisions for associated car parking and bicycle parking, and a bin store.

It is proposed that access to the site will be provided by a new vehicular access point onto Old Nangor Road and new pedestrian access to replace the existing vehicular entrance.

There are also plans for landscaping, boundary treatments and all associated site and engineering works necessary to facilitate the development.

South Dublin County Council has requested additional information about the proposed development relating to a number of topics.

The topics include the design and height of the proposed development, the proposed development’s proximity to a protected structure, a flood risk assessment and a public lighting scheme.

A number of local councillors have submitted objections to the application for planning permission, including Cllr Trevor Gilligan and Cllr Breeda Bonner.

Cllr Bonner expressed concerns about the height of the proposed structure, the impact it would have on Clondalkin Village and problems with traffic safety in the area.

A decision is due from South Dublin County Council by June 13.
