
Aidan Turner shortlisted for National TV Award

ACTOR Aidan Turner has been nominated for a National Television Award in the UK for his lead performance in BBC drama ‘Poldark'.
The Clondalkin actor has been nominated alongside David Tennant in ‘Broadchurch’, Sheridan Smith in ‘Black Work’ and Suranne Jones in ‘Doctor Foster’.
Turner is best known for his role in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy and upcoming roles include Jim Sheridan’s much anticipated feature ‘The Secret Scripture’ – co-starring Oscar nominee Rooney Mara in the lead role.
However the former UCI Square employee will face stiff competition against David Tennant in Broadchurch, Sheridan Smith in Black Work and Suranne Jones in Doctor Foster. Voting is open at nationaltvawards.com with the winners announced in a special live ITV show hosted by Dermot O’Leary on January 20.
