Head of professional services at Amach Software, Lenny McManus, spoke to The Echo about their recent LEO award win.

“It was great winning it, it was quite surprising actually, a nice, pleasant surprise.

“It was our first year availing of the LEO supports, so we had a couple of supports just in terms of dealing with Covid, but also in terms of financial support of grants to increase our staff.”

The Local Enterprise Office South Dublin’s Enterprise Awards competition is organised annually to acknowledge and highlight the achievements of small businesses in the County.

Amach Software employs 55 staff in total with 25 in the headquarters at Knockmeenagh road in Clondalkin, 15 in their offices in Romania and 15 are based in the Ukraine.

The company helps organisations of all sizes achieve continuous software delivery through automation and specialises in automation testing and deployments.

Hoping to continue to grow their client base over the next two years, they currently work with a number of big name clients such as JC Penney, Aer Lingus, Newbay Software and Webdoctor to name a few.

“We are currently engaging with a number of new clients, looking at the problems and challenges that they are facing, especially off the back of Covid.

“I think organisations are coming across challenges related to that and we are looking at how we can support them and implement solutions,” Lenny told The Echo.

Lenny also explained that whilst Covid-19 brought a lot of unexpected changes, it gave them a lot of new opportunities from a technology perspective.

He said: “Covid was obviously a surprise to a lot of people and there was a lot of changes, especially around technology.

“One of our clients is Aer Lingus, who were obviously impacted as a result of Covid.

“I think working with Aer Lingus, we were able to, I guess, use it as an opportunity to come in and take advantage of the Covid situation and the reduction in travel and the reduction on the services and resources from a technology perspective, to look at systems and see how we could deliver with Aer Lingus for those digital transformations during a slower period.

“There is always that business as usual balance – how the managers do business as usual while introducing the new solutions and covid, because of the impact in that specific sector, it reduced the amount of business as usual projects.

“There were a lot of new reactionary projects if we look at the likes of the travel ban from Ireland, there were technology changes that required technology solutions, and working with the Aer Lingus team we were able to deliver those solutions.”
