August 2016 Team of the Month DSD AC Women’s National League Team

DSD Athletic Club saw their women’s team raise the GloHealth National League Premier Division title for the sixth season in succession following a tremendous performance in the finals in Tullamore in August.

Among the standout performers on the day was Sinéad Denny, who won the 400m in a time of 54.57 before helping the 4x400m relay team to second place.

Grace O’Rourke took the 800m event in a time of 2:23.63, and was also victorious in the high jump, after clearing a height of 1.60m.

Fiona Clinton took top honours in the 3000m event with a time of 10:23.96 before the 4x100m relay team crossed the line first in 47.97.

DSD finished with a total of 101 points, seven clear of second place St Abban’s, while in the Men’s Premier class, Clonliffe tallied 120 points on their way to the title, 9.5 points ahead of Irishtown-based Crusaders.

Tallaght’s Brian Gregan spearheaded their charge as he took the 200m honours in 21.37 seconds, and won the 400m by a full second, in a time of 47.83.

He also anchored Clonliffe Harriers 4x400m team as they finished second.
