Originally from Mungret in Limerick, Fr Reynolds had been living and working at the Redemptorist Cherry Orchard parish in recent times.

He had previously worked in the missions, and spent considerable time in the Philippines.

Fr Gerry O’Connor, a fellow Redemptorist and former parish priest in Cherry Orchard, said that Fr Reynolds was a “remarkable human being, faith activist and kind priest.”

In a tribute online, Fr O’Connor said he was “consumed by memories of Pat Reynolds, moments of laughter, tears and beautiful memorable years together” in Cherry Orchard.

Fr Reynolds is predeceased by his brother Fr Gerry, and survived by his brother Michael, sister Noreen and extended family and friends.

The reposing took place in the Church of the Most Holy Sacrament, Cherry Orchard, on Thursday.

A removal took place immediately afterwards to Mount St Alphonsus Church, Limerick, for a funeral mass this morning.
