No Luas service between Saggart and Belgard following morning collision

By Aura McMenamin

The red line luas between Saggart and Belgard has been suspended this morning, following a collision at Cheeverstown earlier this morning.

The non-luas collision occurred before 8am.

The service was restored shortly after, however it was again halted two hours later.

Updates on the service are available through Luas.ie or @Luas on Twitter.

A luas spokesperson said: “No service between Saggart and Belgard under Garda directive. Dualway coaches will be stopping at all affected stops. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

This is the second time this week that the luas service between Saggart and Belgard has been disrupted.

On Tuesday morning, after 8am, there was a collision with a van and a luas near the Katherine Tynan Road, close to the Cheeverstown luas stop again.

As of lunchtime on Friday, the junction remained closed as the traffic control system was out of service.
