Ballymount Towing Company scoops Best Recovery Operator of the Year prize

BALLYMOUNT business Irish Towing Company picked up a gong at the Society of Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) Irish Motor Industry Awards.

The family operated towing company – which is also celebrating 30 years in business this year – won an award for the best Vehicle Recovery Operator of the Year.

The SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards, in partnership with Bank of Ireland Finance, hosted the ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, in Dublin.

RTE presenter Des Cahill announced the winners in front of over 700 guests.

Now in their sixth year, the awards honoured businesses that have demonstrated excellence and best practice in their industry over the last 12 months.

Nine award categories in total were presented by Mark Boggan, President of SIMI and Pat Creed, Managing Director of Sponsors Bank of Ireland Finance.

Irish Towing Services, a leader in the field of vehicle recovery, was established by Alan Sherwood in 1986.

The family run business on Turnpike Road, Ballymount, has a 24/7 year-round service and contacts with motoring assistance organisations, insurance companies, An Garda Siochana, aswell as car dealers, fleet companies and financial institutions.

Pat Creed Managing Director of Bank of Ireland Finance, said: “BIF is the leading provider of funding to the IMI through tied relationships with 14 manufacturers/distributors which account for in excess of 50 per cent of the total industry.”

Alan Nolan, Director General of the SIMI, said: “This is the sixth year of the SIMI Motor Industry Awards and each year they have continued to grow in both entries and categories.

“This year’s entries have really raised the bar in terms of both standard and quality. It is great to see our members continuing to develop and improve their business.”
