Bank of Ireland brings ‘Enterprise Town’ initiative to Rathcoole

Bank of Ireland has announced that Enterprise Town will be coming to Rathcoole Community Centre on Friday, November 25 from 2.00pm to 5.30pm. The events will feature Business networking, Community and Sports Expo, as well as plenty of family-friendly activities.

The Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town event has been organised by the bank in partnership with the local community.

The initiative aims to promote enterprise for local businesses and the wider sports and social community in Rathcoole by connecting with communities in these areas in order to showcase what the area has to offer.

Events are free to attend for all the family and are open to both customers and non-customers of Bank of Ireland.

On Friday, over 50 exhibitors will display a wide variety of products and services. Bank of Ireland is calling on those around Rathcoole to come and support all the exhibitors.

Also on Friday, a wide range of local businesses will take part in an informal B2B event from 2.00pm to 3.00pm that is sure to provide many opportunities for networking.

Kicking off the Sports Expo, soccer legend John Giles will lead a Q&A discussion with Kenneth Egan and Jason Sherlock from 4.00pm to 4.45pm, followed by a ‘Business in Sport’ panel discussion featuring former Irish Gaelic football star, Jason Sherlock. 

Rounding off the day’s sporting conversation, Olympian and Fine Gael councillor, Kenneth Egan, will focus on the relationship between local politics and sport.

Among the other day’s other sporting highlights, Commercials GAA Hurling club will give a skills masterclass,. A number of other clubs will also be there on the day, including St Mary’s GAA, Saggart Karate club, Rathcoole Boys FC, Peamont United FC, N7Boxing Club, and Superfit Gym Rathcoole.

There will be a strong Community Group presence on the day, including Rathcoole Community Day Care Centre, Rathcoole Active Retirement Group and many more.

Guest of honour Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald TD will also be there, along with a host of friendly faces, making Rathcoole Community Centre the place to be on November 25.

“We would encourage local businesses and the wider community to come and share in activities over the weekend. I would like to thank the Enterprise Town Committee and all those involved in helping to organise and exhibit at this event.”

Business Advisor, Joanne Kelly, Bank of Ireland Rathcoole, added: “The local community have embraced this initiative wholeheartedly, and working together we have organised a very exciting programme of activity.

“The event will be free to attend and is open to all. It is a fantastic opportunity for the community to see the level of enterprise here in Rathcoole.”
