Base Woodfired Pizza owners granted planning for subdivision of vacant cafe

THE owners of Base Woodfired Pizza have been granted planning permission for the subdivision of a vacant café unit to instead provide a restaurant and a café in Two Oaks in Knocklyon.

The subject site is on the ground floor of apartment block C3 in the Two Oaks development, at Beechpark and Maryfield in Scholarstown, Knocklyon.

Base Control Management Limited, which owns Base Woodfired Pizza, this month secured permission for the subdivision of the vacant cafe unit at the ground floor of Block C3.

The subdivision will provide a restaurant (130 sq.m) with associated signage and a café (188 sq,m), and all associated works are included in the proposal.

The associated signage comprises BASE signs on the south and eastern elevations, a projecting sign on the southern elevation, and a woodfired pizza sign on the eastern elevation.

On February 6, South Dublin County Council granted permission for the subdivision with a number of conditions.

These conditions include the restaurant operating only between the hours of 4.30pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday, and from 12pm to 11pm on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.

The ancillary takeaway element of the restaurant shall operate from 5pm to 11pm on Monday to Friday and from 12pm to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday.

SDCC also stated that the level of illumination of the lighting for the signs shall be reviewable at any time by the Roads Department of the Planning Authority in the interests of traffic safety.
