The Beithilín Beo is the true Christmas spirit in every sense and once again this year the show was a huge success with over 1,500 attending.

Now in its 15th year, this year’s Live Crib was opened by RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey who said “no words can describe this show, it is magical and a credit to the Clondalkin people.”

Beithilín Beo - 'a wonderful dream come to life'

Brian Ó Gáibhín from Muintir Chrónáin said: “I can’t thank the wonderful people, young and old of Áras Chrónáin, Muintir Chrónáin, Cluain Dolcáin and our cairde – friends who gather together each year to bring this wonderful dream to life.

“Every single person gives of their time, expertise and talent voluntary and free, of which we are all so grateful. I have trawled the internet and have yet to come across anything like the magic and beauty of the Beithilín Beo.

“Cluain Dolcáin is a very special place and Áras Chrónáin has a very special community of which we are proud of. We were honoured this year to win the Pride of Place Awards – Creative Place Initiative 2018.

“A lovely part of the Beithilín Beo is to hear our native tongue, the Irish language, being used by all, from a simple few words (cúpla focal) to people, cast and crew communicating in Irish in a natural, living vibrant, normalised way, maith sibh.”
