Bike project gets €30,000 funding

A collective from the Tallaght Group, a part of the national youth organisation, Foróige Tallaght, received a €30,000 grant from the Google Data Centre Community fund for the Killinarden Bike Project.

The project trains young people, aged between 12 and 18, how to refurbish recycled and donated bikes.

The objective is to provide young participants the opportunity to develop technical skills and bike maintenance, as well as gain experience in the field they are interested in.

Sacred Heart Football Club donated space for the project so they could build a work shed.

The project is being supported by the national youth organisation, Foróige and the Gardai.

The donated space has great potential for future projects, according to Andy Leeson of Foróige.

The group would like to thank Sacred Heart FC for donating the space for the project.

If you are interested or know someone who would be interested in joining the project, contact Foróige Tallaght at (01) 451 6322.
