Books of condolence for Martin McGuinness and crew of Rescue 116 open in Tallaght

Books of condolence have opened at the County Hall in Tallaght for former Northern Ireland First Minister Martin McGuinness and members of the Rescue 116 Irish Coast Guard helicopter, including Ballyfermot man Paul Ormsby.

County Mayor Gus O’Connell opened the books yesterday, and they will remain open until Friday 24 March at 4:30pm.

The funeral of Mr McGuinness is set to take place in Derry on Thursday afternoon at 2pm.

Meanwhile the funeral of Captain Dara Fitzpatrick, the only crew member of the Rescue 116 helicopter to be found so far, took place on Saturday.

The search continues for the other three members, but difficult weather conditions have meant diving in the area has been impossible.
