Bright future for Tallaght Cross Hotel on their second anniversary

TALLAGHT Cross Hotel is celebrating its two-year anniversary as the staff say they are confident for the future after an uncertain two years during the pandemic.

As February 2022 approached, Tallaght Cross Hotel and its team began to celebrate two years since they first opened their doors to diners and overnight guests. According to the staff at the hotel, “it has been a strange two years” as the hotel was faced with a difficult decision to initially close its doors just one month after opening on February 4, 2020, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

With a busy summer planned in 2020 with a lot of international travellers booked and a national marketing campaign on the cards, the hotel was plunged into uncertainty as the pandemic emerged. The hotel reopened in July 2020, and with a small crew of staff who worked hard and multi-tasked, the business began to work again within the limits of government restrictions and became determined to remain open.

Fast forward to today, the hotel is in a stronger position and confident for the future. The hotel enjoyed a positive performance come the end of 2021. And in 2022, the hotel looks to be attracting corporate and leisure guests’ week in and week out. The hotel recognises the demand in the area and looks to meet that demand by offering a wonderful four-star experience. Sitting in the bustling hotel bar any evening of the week would give a good indication of how well the place is doing with locals and guests alike.

The hotel offers 186 bedrooms, a warm and friendly bar, along with a brasserie serving fantastic fare and boasts a multi-national team of dedicated professionals from around the globe including Poland, Romania, Brazil, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, and of course Ireland. The number of employees continue to grow, as the hotel prepares for a busy Spring and Summer ahead.

The hotel has built a great name for its Afternoon Tea, and it’s take-away caddy, which was introduced last year. It has been a firm favourite with locals looking for a special treat with friends and family. The Afternoon Tea is designed by Executive Head Chef Eric Osborne, who leads a fine brigade of chefs.

Celebrating its two-year anniversary, the team at the hotel took a moment out to enjoy a birthday cupcake this week which was supplied by Quigley’s Bakery and reflected on the unusual path that has led them to where they are today.

Through uncertainty, the hotel finds itself well positioned, with solid footing, to continue to grow its business this year and the future looks bright.
