Brothers charged over riot in Clondalkin

TWO BROTHERS have appeared in Blanchardstown District Court charged in connection with a riot in Clondalkin village earlier this month.

Jack and Gavin Slattery appeared on bail before Judge David McHugh.

Sergeant Maria Callaghan gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution by certificate in respect of each accused.

Jack, aged 18, and Gavin aged 28, both with an address at St Ronan’s Gardens, Clondalkin, are charged with engaging in violent disorder with another named male at Orchard Road, Clondalkin, on November 4, 2018.

Sgt Callaghan told Judge McHugh that DPP directions would be required in the case.

The Slattery’s solicitor, Matthew Kenny, suggested a lengthy remand to January. He said there was a co-accused who was also before the courts.

Judge McHugh remanded the Slatterys on continuing bail to a date at the end of January for DPP’s directions.
